eBay Spawns Franchises

Online business phenomenon eBay continues to have an impact on economic sectors far beyond its online realm.  Savvy entrepreneurs have started to recognize that while everybody loves to turn their old (or new) unused items into cash, not everyone wants to go through the hassle of listing the item on eBay, monitoring the auction, and then shipping it off (something I recently experienced firsthand... after successfully auctioning off a mountain bike, I then had to figure out how to get it to a smallish town in Colorado). 

As a result, there have now sprung up a number of franchise systems of "eBay dropoff stores", where anyone that has recently cleaned out the attic can drop off the item, have it photographed, listed, placed in inventory and shipped after the auction has ended, for a fee or percentage of the selling price.

One of these franchise systems is iSold It, which is moving into Canada. Another is Imagine it Sold, which has just recently expanded into Canada.  A link to the news release is here
